Late Run Helps A’s in 2-1 Victory Over Menasha
Posted: July 11, 2024
Tied 1-1 in the top of the ninth, Harry Steldt hit a fly ball to center field that was misplayed by the center fielder, allowing Sean Tillmon to cross the plate as the A’s escaped Menasha with a 2-1 win Wednesday night.
Hunter Netzler pitched a gem for the A’s, going eight strong, allowing just two hits as he picked up the victory. Menasha’s only run came in the first inning after a shaky start for Netzler, who hit the first batter of the game, walked the second, hit the third batter to load the bases, then walked in the Macs only run. After that, Netzler shut down the Macs offense, striking out nine.
Carlos Granela closed things out in the ninth for the save, his first of the season.
The A’s tied the game in the fourth when Brad Rindfleisch hit into a fielder’s choice that scored Steldt for the game’s only other offense.
The A’s host West Allis on Thursday night at Wildwood Park. Thursday is a Hand Fan Giveaway presented by Four Seasons Comfort. It’s also Plymouth Dirt Track Night, with race cars on display in the parking lot before the game. The 2024 season is presented by Meijer.
