A’s Take Three of Four to Open Wisconsin State League Play

Posted: June 8, 2026

The Sheboygan A’s opened Wisconsin State League play in impressive fashion over the weekend, winning three of four games against the Addison Braves at Wildwood Park.

The A’s finished the four-game series with a 3-1 record and improved to 3-1 in Wisconsin State League play behind a dominant stretch of pitching that allowed just seven runs across the four contests.

Saturday’s opener featured another outstanding performance from Jared Reklaitis. The right-hander tossed a complete-game three-hitter, striking out eight and walking none as Sheboygan earned a 4-1 victory. After Addison scored an unearned run in the first inning, Reklaitis settled in and did not allow another run the rest of the way.

The A’s took control with a three-run second inning. Cal Casper tripled and scored the tying run before Jimmy Juergensen delivered an RBI single. Nick Tenny and George Hoss each added run-scoring groundouts later in the inning. Chase Hanselman provided insurance in the fifth with a solo home run as Sheboygan secured the opening win of the series.

The offense broke out in a big way in Saturday’s nightcap, rolling to a 13-1 victory in five innings. Gavin Gawronski earned the complete-game win, allowing just one hit and one run while striking out two.

Sheboygan scored three runs in the third inning, four more in the fourth, and erupted for six runs in the fifth to end the game via the 10-run rule. Harry Steldt highlighted the attack with a three-run home run and finished with five RBIs, while Juergensen added a home run, double, and three RBIs. Hanselman reached base three times and scored twice, while Sawyer Shultis collected two hits and crossed the plate three times.

Sunday’s first game proved to be the most tightly contested matchup of the weekend. The A’s carried a 3-1 lead into the middle innings behind RBI doubles from Steldt and Riley Palmquist and an RBI single from Jacob Neese. Addison tied the game late before scoring the go-ahead run in extra innings to claim a 4-3 victory.

Despite the loss, Eric Schmitz delivered a strong start, striking out six over seven innings. Brad Rindfleisch was sharp in relief, his first appearance of the season, recording four strikeouts over the final two innings. Steldt finished with three hits and two doubles, while Palmquist added two doubles and an RBI.

The A’s bounced back in the weekend finale behind another complete-game effort. Shaun Gavin scattered three hits over seven innings, striking out seven as Sheboygan defeated Addison 5-1 to secure the series victory.

After three scoreless innings, the A’s broke through in the fourth. Neese and Palmquist opened the inning with singles before Juergensen lined a two-run double into right field. Sheboygan added three more runs in the fifth to build a 5-0 advantage. Hunter Johnson’s solo home run in the seventh accounted for Addison’s lone run of the game.

Palmquist, Neese, and Hudson Wagner each collected hits during the decisive fifth-inning rally, while Gavin closed out the complete-game victory with a pair of strikeouts in the seventh.

The weekend continued a strong stretch for the A’s pitching staff. Reklaitis, Gawronski, and Gavin combined to throw three complete-game victories while allowing just five earned runs over 19 innings. The staff surrendered only seven runs total during the four-game series.

With the series victory, Sheboygan improved to 7-5 overall and 3-1 in Wisconsin State League play.
