Sheboygan A's vs. Lombard Orioles

A’s Drop Two to Lombard

Posted: June 28, 2025

The Sheboygan A’s couldn’t slow down the Wisconsin State League’s defending champions Saturday afternoon, dropping both games of a doubleheader to the Lombard Orioles at Wildwood Park.

In game one, Lombard jumped out to a quick lead with a four-run first inning, then added solo home runs and a late two-run shot to pull away. The A’s managed 10 hits but left too many runners stranded. Chase Hanselman, Alex Ames, Bradyn Horn, and Calvin Keesler each had two hits. Ames and Horn drove in both Sheboygan runs during a two-run second inning. Eric Schmitz took the loss, striking out five over six innings.

Game two featured another early burst from Lombard, who scored four runs across the first two innings and added a fifth on a solo home run. The A’s were held in check offensively by a complete game shutout and struck out 10 times. Ames, Keesler, Connor Lasch, Hudson Wagner, and Harry Steldt accounted for Sheboygan’s five hits. Brad Rindfleisch struck out eight over six innings but took the loss. Defensively, the A’s turned two double plays and were flawless in the field.

Sheboygan drops to 15–10 overall and 5–7 in Wisconsin State League play. The two teams meet again Sunday for another doubleheader at 1 PM at Wildwood Park.
