Posted: June 5, 2024

Brad Rindfleisch delivered a dominant performance on the mound, striking out 18 batters to lead the A’s to a 4-1 victory over the Green Bay Blue Ribbons on Tuesday at Joannes Park in Green Bay.

The game was the first in both the Wisconsin State League and Northeastern Wisconsin Baseball League this season for the A’s, who improve to 5-2 overall, 1-0 in the WSL, 1-0 in the NEWBL.

Rindfleisch allowed just five hits and one run over the complete nine innings, walking six. He struck out 11 of the last 15 batters he faced.

The A’s got on the board early in the first inning after an error allowed Gus Walker to score a run. The Blue Ribbons tied the game at one in the bottom of the third inning on a single.

The A’s broke the tie in the top of the fifth inning when Chase Hanselmann singled, scoring two, and a ground out by Harry Steldt extended the lead to 4-1.

Jimmy Juergensen, Walker, Hanselmann, and Alex Perez each collected one hit. Walker stole two more bases to add to his team lead.

The 2024 season, presented by Meijer, continues Wednesday night in Appleton against the Legends in a Northeastern Wisconsin Baseball League matchup. The A’s will be back home Thursday for Midwest Communications Night against the Menasha Macs. Free general admission tickets are available at the Midwest Communications office on Washington Ave. in Sheboygan.
