Sheboygan A's Walkoff Winner

A’s Push Win Streak to Five with Walk-Off Victory Over Appleton

Posted: June 22, 2022

For the third straight game, the A’s won the game with their final at-bat.

Tied 4-4 in the bottom of the ninth with runners on second and third, Jacoby Endreas (UW-Stout) knocked in the game-winning run with a single to right field as the A’s completed the comeback over Appleton, 5-4.

Trailing 4-1 entering the seventh, Justin Schnell (UW-Stout) took one for the team after being hit by Appleton’s Brett Tetzlaff. Consecutive flyouts looked like Schnell’s hit by pitch would be for nothing, before Ross Krist (UW-Platteville Alum) doubled and Harry Steldt (UW-Stevens Point Alum) singled in both runners closing the gap to 4-3. After another single from Brady Zackrison (Marian University), Jacob Nesse (Parkland Community College) kept the train rolling with another single which scored Steldt to tie the game.

Starter Noah Imrie (Marian University Alum)pitched five quality innings, giving up just one run before being lifted in favor of Blake Roach who struggled mightily with his control in just his second outing with the A’s. Blake Kunz (South Dakota State) then came on before Joey Pettit (UW-Whitewater) took over in the ninth. Pettit got the victory, pitching on three days’ rest, but was highly effective, recording three outs on just eight pitches.

The win moves the A’s to five games above .500 overall, at 15-10, but more importantly, keeps them in first place in the Northeastern Wisconsin Baseball League standings at 4-1.
