A’s Bats Come Alive in 8–3 Win Over Tropics
Posted: July 18, 2025
The Sheboygan A’s broke through in multiple innings and never trailed again after the third, defeating the Milwaukee Tropics 8–3 on Friday night at Wildwood Park.
Sheboygan opened the scoring in the bottom of the first when Calvin Keesler delivered a two-out RBI double to right, bringing home Chase Hanselman.
Milwaukee tied the game in the third, but the A’s responded quickly in the bottom half of the inning.
Bradyn Horn singled and stole second, then Riley Palmquist walked. John Hadley followed with a three-run home run to center, giving Sheboygan a 4–1 lead. Later in the inning, a sacrifice fly by Keesler brought home a fourth run to make it 5–1.
The Tropics chipped away with two runs in the fourth, but Sheboygan’s bullpen took over from there. Gavin Gawronski was dominant in relief in his A’s debut, striking out three across two scoreless innings to earn the win. Nolan Sand and Charlie Wahlen combined for the final three shutout innings, holding the Tropics to just one hit the rest of the way.
The A’s pulled away with a four-run sixth. Cal Casper was hit by a pitch to start the inning, and after a single by Horn and a walk by Palmquist, Hadley worked a walk to force in a run. Jimmy Juergensen followed with a two-run double, and Keesler’s sacrifice fly added the final blow.
Horn finished the night 4-for-5 and scored twice. Juergensen drove in two. Hadley’s only hit of the game was the homer, but it was a big one—he finished with three RBIs. Keesler also drove in three.
The A’s drew six walks and collected eight hits while limiting the Tropics to just three runs on six hits. The win marked a strong all-around effort as Sheboygan got contributions from the top to bottom of the lineup and a lights-out performance from its bullpen.
The A’s are back home Saturday afternoon against the Chicago Clout at 2 PM for Meijer Family Day and a character appearance by the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. The 2025 season is presented by Meijer.
