Juergensen’s Ninth-Inning Blast Lifts A’s Over Menasha

Posted: July 16, 2025

Jimmy Juergensen crushed a go-ahead two-run home run in the top of the ninth, powering the Sheboygan A’s to a 6–4 win over the Menasha Macs on Tuesday night in Menasha.

The A’s, who currently sit in first place in the Northeastern Wisconsin Baseball League, also received some help in their pursuit of the regular season championship with Greenville knocking off Green Bay Tuesday.

Locked in a 4–4 tie, Juergensen jumped on the first pitch of the inning and launched it over the center field wall, scoring Jacob Neese and giving the A’s a late lead they would not relinquish.

The game was a back-and-forth affair throughout the night. Menasha struck first, plating a run in the bottom of the first and another in the third to take a 2–0 lead. Sheboygan responded in the top of the fourth, when John Hadley belted a three-run homer to right to give the A’s their first lead of the night.

The Macs tied the game at 3–3 in the fifth on an RBI single, but Sheboygan edged back in front in the seventh thanks to a run-scoring single by Riley Palmquist. Menasha wouldn’t go away, knotting the game again in the bottom half of the inning with another RBI single.

From there, starter Brad Rindfleisch bore down. The veteran righty turned in a complete-game performance, allowing just one earned run on six hits across nine innings while striking out 11. He threw a season-high 150 pitches, 89 of them for strikes, and held the Macs scoreless over the final two innings to secure the win.

The A’s totaled 10 hits in the game. Hadley and Juergensen each homered and drove in multiple runs, while Palmquist had two hits and an RBI. Alex Ames also added two hits and a stolen base. Neese scored twice and had a single, while Cal Casper and Carter Kallies added hits off the bench.

Sheboygan ends their recent five-game skid, and now sits 21-17 overall. More importantly, they are now 8-3 in the NEWBL, and one game up on second place Green Bay who is now 8-5. The NEWBL regular season champion receives a bye into the league’s best-of-three playoff championship series, while seeds 2-5 will play a round robin to determine the other participant. The 2025 season is presented by Meijer.
