A’s Split Sunday Twin Bill in Green Bay

Posted: June 23, 2025

The Sheboygan A’s earned a solid win in game one of Sunday’s doubleheader against the Green Bay Blue Ribbons, but couldn’t complete the sweep, falling in the nightcap at Joannes Stadium.

In the opener, the A’s used a three-run third inning to take control and never trailed again in a 5–2 victory. Connor Lasch brought home the game’s first run with a groundout, and John Hadley followed with a two-run single up the middle to extend the lead. Jason Bunton turned in a strong performance on the mound, striking out eight over seven innings while allowing just two runs and five hits. The defense was clean behind him, playing error-free ball.

Lasch and Harry Steldt each had two hits in the win, while Hadley led the team with two RBIs. The A’s tacked on insurance runs in the fifth and seventh and kept Green Bay off the board after the third.

Game two told a different story. A pair of first-inning errors helped Green Bay plate three early runs, and they never looked back in a 9–1 win. Sheboygan starter Sawyer Kowalkowski allowed just two earned runs over three innings, but defensive miscues and timely Green Bay hitting widened the gap.

Offensively, the A’s managed just four hits — one each from Steldt, Neese, Ames, and Lasch. Neese drove in the team’s lone run.

With the split, Sheboygan moves to 13–8 overall, 5–2 in NEWBL play, and 4–5 in the Wisconsin State League. The A’s and Blue Ribbons meet again Monday night at Wildwood Park.
