The Sheboygan A’s needed a win Thursday night and a Green Bay loss to keep their NEWBL regular season championship hopes alive.

Green Bay won their matchup over Appleton. The A’s scored just one run on the road as they fell 6-1 to the Kewaskum A’s.

The loss eliminates the A’s from title contention. Green Bay clinched at least a share of the league title and the league’s automatic birth to the Wisconsin Class A State Tournament. Kewaskum remains in contention for a share of the league title.

Sheboygan’s lone run came in the top of the sixth on a RBI single by Alex Perez, driving in Harry Steldt.

The offense drew seven walks and scattered six hits put had a hard time trying to push runs across the plate.

Eric Zuberbier took the loss Thursday, giving up just one earned run over seven innings, striking out seven. Carlos Granela pitched one inning in relief.

The A’s will finish a rain-suspended game against Kenosha on Saturday before playing a regularly scheduled doubleheader with them at Wildwood Park on Saturday. It’s Youth Hockey Day presented by Jennifer Littmann, Pleasant View Realty. The 2024 season is presented by Meijer.
