A’s Split Saturday-Sunday Doubleheaders

The Sheboygan A’s hosted four more games at Wildwood Park Saturday and Sunday afternoons, and came out of it 2-2.
Saturday the A’s welcomed the Chicago Clout of the Chicago-area Skyscraper League to Wildwood.
In game one Saturday, the A’s used a four-run fifth inning to increase their 1-0 lead to 5-0. The Clout would try to chip away with single runs in the sixth and seventh but A’s held on for the victory. Harry Steldt and Cole Erickson each chipped in two base hits while Noah Imrie lasted six and a third innings for the victory.
Game two Saturday as the Clout jump out to a 4-0 lead after the top of the first. The score would remain that way until the bottom of the seventh when the A’s would battle back, scoring three before falling. JT Reed and Steldt each collected two hits.
Sunday the A’s returned to Wisconsin State League action against the Kenosha Kings. The A’s took game one 4-2 before dropping the second 3-1. Eric Schmitz picked up the win in game one, pitching six innings, striking out 11. Brad Rindfleisch came on for the save.
In game two, things were knotted up at 1-1 until the Kings scored two in the top of the sixth to jump ahead. Ross Krist had three of the A’s six hits off of the Kings’ Brandon Jeffery. Jared Reklaitis took the loss, his first of the season, despite striking out twelve.
The A’s will enjoy an off day Monday, then head to Appleton Tuesday for an NEWBL matchup with the Legends. The A’s are back home Wednesday for another non-league matchup with the Little Chute River Bandits. Wednesday is Teacher Appreciation Night, with educators getting a free general admission ticket when showing their school ID at the ticket office.
The Sheboygan A's are members of the Wisconsin State League and Northeastern Wisconsin Baseball League. The A's have helped develop more than 43 players that have reached professional baseball, including 2002 World Series Champion Jarrod Washburn (Anaheim Angels).
