A’s Get Three Wins Sunday to Close Out WSL Play
Posted: July 25, 2022
The Sheboygan A’s finished their Wisconsin State League season in unique fashion Sunday, picking up three wins as the A’s and Addison finished their suspended game from Saturday before completing their regularly scheduled doubleheader.
Saturday, in game one of the doubleheader with the A’s leading 4-0 after four complete, lighting and rain suspended the game. After some confusion as to whether the game would be resumed or not, the teams agreed on Sunday to complete the game before their scheduled doubleheader. The A’s would complete the shutout 6-0, before taking “game one” 7-3 and finishing off the day with a 6-1 victory.
The wins give the A’s a final Wisconsin State League record of 16-13. The second game of Saturday’s doubleheader that was postponed will not be made up.
While Wildwood Park hosts the American Legion U-19 State Tournament this week, the A’s will be on the road Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday competing in the Northeastern Wisconsin Baseball League Classic Tournament. Tonight the A’s will play the Appleton Legends in Appleton, followed by the Menasha Macs in Menasha on Tuesday, and Greater Green Bay in Green Bay on Wednesday. The A’s won last year’s tournament.
The team will then get the rest of the week off in a well-deserved rest before opening up Wisconsin Class A State Tournament qualifying play. The schedule for that is still to be determined, but the A’s are expected to host Kenosha on Tuesday, August 2 with an official announcement coming soon.
