Hanselman Delivers Walk-Off as A’s Edge Menasha, 3-2

Posted: July 16, 2026

The Sheboygan A’s earned one of their biggest wins of the season Thursday night, as Chase Hanselman lined a walk-off single to left field in the bottom of the seventh inning to give the A’s a 3-2 victory over the Menasha Macs in Northeastern Wisconsin Baseball League action.

With the win, Sheboygan improved to 7-7 in the NEWBL, while Menasha fell to 10-4.

Locked in a 2-2 tie entering the final inning, George Hoss reached on an error to open the bottom of the seventh before stealing second base. After Alex Ames was intentionally walked, Hanselman delivered the game-winning hit, lining a single to left that easily scored Hoss and sent the A’s streaming out of the dugout in celebration.

The A’s answered Menasha’s first-inning run immediately. Ames drew a leadoff walk and Hanselman followed with an RBI double to left-center to tie the game. Consecutive walks to Connor Lasch and Hudson Wagner loaded the bases before Jimmy Juergensen grounded into a double play that brought Hanselman home, giving Sheboygan a 2-1 advantage.

Menasha evened the score in the third when Quade Thompson delivered an RBI single to center after Ryan Csida and Evan Olson reached with back-to-back hits.

From there, the game belonged to Noah Imrie.

Making his fifth start on the mound, Imrie turned in a complete-game performance, allowing just two runs on six hits while striking out 10 and walking only one over seven innings. He retired the final three hitters in order in the seventh, finishing his outing with back-to-back strikeouts before getting Ayden Kanaman on a dropped third strike to keep the game tied. Imrie threw 100 pitches, including 72 strikes.

The A’s threatened several times before finally breaking through in the seventh. Juergensen doubled in the sixth, but Menasha escaped the inning after Juergensen was thrown out trying to score on an error. In the seventh, however, Hoss’ hustle on the bases and Hanselman’s clutch swing provided the difference.

Hanselman finished 2-for-4 with a double, the game-winning RBI, and two RBIs overall. Juergensen added a double, while Hoss singled, scored the winning run, and stole two bases. Ames reached base three times with a hit, two walks, and the intentional pass in the final inning.

Defensively, the A’s played an error-free game behind Imrie, who consistently worked ahead in the count and limited Menasha to just one extra-base hit.

The A’s now head to Lombard, Illinois, for a four-game weekend series against the Lombard Orioles.
