Juergensen Homers Twice, But West Allis Walks Off A’s in 10 Innings

Posted: July 2, 2026

The Sheboygan A’s dropped a 3-2 heartbreaker to the West Allis Nationals in 10 innings Wednesday night in Wisconsin State League action, as Chance Ruby hit a two-out walk-off home run in the bottom of the 10th inning.

Despite the loss, Sheboygan remained in first place in the Wisconsin State League at 10-4, holding a half-game lead over Kenosha. West Allis improved to 10-6, moving within one game of the league lead.

West Allis opened the scoring in the first inning when Brian Huntzinger delivered an RBI single to plate Ryan Lemm for a 1-0 advantage. Jimmy Juergensen answered in the second, launching a solo home run to center field to even the game at 1-1.

Both teams settled into a pitching duel over the middle innings. Noah Imrie started for the A’s, allowing one run on three hits over four innings while striking out three. Jason Bunton followed with three innings of relief, giving up one run while striking out four. Cade Voelker entered for the final innings and worked out of a bases-loaded jam in the ninth by recording a force out at the plate before inducing a foul pop-up to keep the game tied.

West Allis briefly reclaimed the lead in the sixth on Lemm’s second RBI single of the night, but Juergensen came through again an inning later. The first baseman blasted his second solo homer of the game to tie the contest at 2-2 and send it into extra innings.

The A’s threatened in the 10th after Chase Hanselman doubled with two outs but were unable to score. In the bottom half, Ruby ended the game with a two-out solo home run to center, giving the Nationals the walk-off victory.

Juergensen finished 2-for-4 with both Sheboygan runs coming on his two home runs. Hanselman doubled and walked, while George Hoss, Harry Steldt and Connor Lasch each added a hit. The A’s were limited to seven hits and struck out 12 times.

The same two clubs meet for the third straight night Thursday at Wildwood Park in Sheboygan. First pitch is scheduled for 7:30 PM as the A’s look to win the week’s three-game series after taking Tuesday night’s opener.
