Looking for a three-peat in the Wisconsin Amateur Baseball Classic, the A’s fell in the tournament semi-finals Sunday afternoon at Wildwood Park.
The A’s lost to the eventual tournament champions, the Hartford Hawks, 5-1 Sunday. The Hawks entered the semi-finals as the number one seed, having swept their way to the semis.
The A’s won their first three games of the weekend, winning 2-0 over Sussex on Friday after a Jimmy Juergensen walk-off home run in the seventh.
They then defeated Appleton and Racine on Saturday to sweep pool play.
The A’s will take Monday off before returning to league action Tuesday, against the same Appleton Legends. Tuesday is Boy Scout / Girl Scout Night, presented by Greg Schoemer of Modern Woodmen. The 2024 season is presented by Meijer.
