Schedule Released for Season Opening Play Ball Tournament

The season-opening Play Ball Tournament, presented by Weichert Realtors (CornerStone) has been released. The tournament will take place on Saturday, May 18, following the Sheboygan A’s 5K Home Run/Walk.

The A’s are the two-time defending tournament champions.

The Play Ball Tournament will consist of two pools, the Branch Pool and the Sheboygan Pool, each with three teams. Each team will play the other two teams in its pool once with the winners of each pool playing in Sheboygan at approximately 5:30 PM for the championship.

Here’s a look at the full tournament schedule:

Sheboygan Pool
Sheboygan A’s vs. Manitowoc Bandits (11 AM)
Manitowoc Bandits vs. DC Marvels (1 PM approx.)
DC Marvels vs. Sheboygan A’s (3 PM approx.)

Branch Pool
Branch Blaze vs. Appleton Legends (10 AM)
Appleton Legends vs. Kewaskum A’s (12 PM approx.)
Kewaskum A’s vs. Branch Blaze (2 PM approx.)

Championship Game (played in Sheboygan)
Sheboygan Pool Winner vs. Branch Pool Winner (5:30 PM)

All tournament games will be seven innings in length, with a ten-run mercy rule in effect after five innings, including the championship. All games will have a two-hour time limit, with no new inning starting after the two-hour time limit is reached. In the event a game is tied, the game will continue as if it were in extra innings until completed.

A pre-game coin toss will determine the home and road team for each game, regardless of whether the pool host is participating in the game.
