Late Rally Lifts A’s Over Kewaskum

The Sheboygan A’s scored two in the top of the ninth Wednesday night to take a 7-6 lead, a score that would result in the final.

Following a leadoff walk, single, then pop out, Jimmy Juergensen (Concordia University-Wisconsin) singled to center field to score Harry Steldt and tie the game at six. Bennet Becker (Carroll College) followed that up with a single to left that scored Michael Martinez (Marian University) to give the A’s the lead.

Carson Bresser (UW-Whitewater) came on to pitch the ninth to get the save. Juergensen, who came on to pitch in relief, collected the win.

The A’s continue their mid-week road trip Thursday with their fifth matchup of the season with the Green Bay Blue Ribbons at Joanees Stadium in Green Bay.

The A’s next home game is tomorrow evening when they host the Appleton Legends for Fan Appreciation Night at 7:30, with $1.50 hot dogs, $3.50 pretzel bites, $1 programs, 20% off youth and adult sweatshirts, and extra prize giveaways all night long.

Former Sheboygan A’s house band II Cool will play a pre-game show before the A’s game that will start at 6:00 PM and go until approximately 7:10 PM inside of Wildwood Park. Fans will need a ticket to the game to attend the show.

The Sheboygan A's are members of the Wisconsin State League and Northeastern Wisconsin Baseball League. The A's have helped develop more than 43 players that have reached professional baseball, including 2002 World Series Champion Jarrod Washburn (Anaheim Angels).
