Davis Throws Complete Game Shutout Over Legends

Posted: July 11, 2023

Dylan Davis (Marian University) needed just 102 pitches Tuesday night for a 4-0 complete game shutout over the Appleton Legends.

Cruising all night long, and throwing 71 of his 102 pitches for strikes, Davis faced just six over the minimum, scattering six hits, and issuing two walks while striking out eight.

All of the A’s offensive damage came in the top of the sixth inning. Gus Walker (Marian University) led things of with a single to right. From there, Bennet Becker (Carrol College) used a sacrifice bunt to get Walker over to second base. With Harry Steldt batting, Walker advanced to third on a wild pitcher before Steldt eventually walked his way to first. Another walk to Carson Hansen (UW-Milwaukee) loaded the bases, and a third straight walk issued by the Legends to Brady Zackrison (Marin University) scored Walker for the first run of the game. With the bases still loaded, Jacob Neese (Parkland Community College) singled to right, scoring Steldt and Hansen before Neese was thrown out at second base. Zackrison would score on another Legends wild pitch for the A’s fourth run.

In total, the A’s collected seven hits and four walks.
