State Tournament Halted Due to Rain

Posted: August 8, 2022

The Sheboygan A’s quest to win the Wisconsin Class A State Tournament ended in unusual fashion Sunday.

With the tournament field down to its final three teams, rain Sunday morning and throughout the day made the field unplayable, canceling the remainder of the tournament.

As a result, the West Allis Nationals were declared the tournament champions, having gone 2-0 on Saturday while the A’s and Appleton Legends were each 1-1. Kewaskum was eliminated Saturday dropping their games to West Allis and Sheboygan.

The A’s will have off until Saturday when they close out the season with a four-game non-league set against the Chicago Clout at Wildwood Park. Saturday’s doubleheader will start at 5 PM with Sunday’s doubleheader starting at 12 PM. Sunday will be a Meijer Family Day, with kids ages 12 and under getting in free to the game. Kids can run the bases after the last game, player autographs will be available between games. Spots are still available for kids who want to be a Junior Stater, click here for more information.
