A’s Advance in WSL Step-Ladder Playoffs

Posted: August 3, 2022

With a 5-3 victory over Kenosha Tuesday night, the A’s have advanced to the second round of the Wisconsin State League’s step-ladder playoffs.

They will face the Burlington Barons tonight in Burlington at 7:30 PM.

In the victory, the A’s set a new single-season record for most recorded strikeouts by the pitching staff, surpassing the mark set just last season with 210. Noah Imrie’s nine-strikeout performance over six innings earned him the victory and gave the A’s the record. Joey Pettit picked up the save.

Jimmy Juergensen went 3-for-3 with three singles and three RBI as eight of the nine A’s starters recorded hits in the game.

The winner of tonight’s game against Burlington will then face West Allis on Thursday but will have already secured a birth in the Wisconsin Class A State Tournament this weekend, as the Nationals will receive an automatic bid for being the defending champions.
