History Made: A’s Set Team Record for Single-Season Winning Streak

Posted: July 8, 2022

With an 11-2 victory over the Manitowoc Bandits in non-league action Thursday night, the 2022 Sheboygan A’s have cemented themselves into the A’s record books.

Their 17th straight victory is the most all-time by the organization.

“We’ve won games every way possible, with two in extra innings, four walk-off wins, and a couple of blowouts,” said A’s manager Tim Moyer. “This team never quits. As long as we have some outs to play with, I believe we have a chance to win. We came from behind to win 10 of the 17 games.”

It has been a fun ride indeed, for the A’s. The streak has catapulted them to the top of the Northeastern Wisconsin Baseball League standings with a 9-1 record, 3.5 games ahead of second-place Green Bay with only six games left to go. The Northeastern Wisconsin Baseball League has a 16-game schedule with each team playing one another four times each.

After a slow start in the Wisconsin State League, starting a dismal 3-8, the streak has moved them up to the middle of the pack and within striking distance of a top-three finish as they now sit at 10-8 with a four-game series against league-leading Lombard up this weekend.

“Pitching has been fabulous during the streak. 165 strikeouts and only 50 walks in 131 innings, a team ERA of 2.75, and three shutouts with two saves,” said Moyer. “Six pitchers have two or more wins during the streak lead, by Jared Reklaitis and Brad Rindfleisch with three each.”

The A’s have Friday off before a pair of doubleheaders Saturday and Sunday in Lombard, IL. The A’s are back home Tuesday for a 6:30 PM doubleheader against the Menasha Macs. The first 250 fans will receive a hand fan courtesy of Advanced Comfort Systems.
