Win Streak Hits Six as A’s Outlast Kewaskum

Posted: June 23, 2022

Kewaskum scored runs in six of their nine offensive innings Wednesday night, totaling 11 runs and 16 hits.

It still wasn’t enough as the A’s used a seven-run second and five-run fourth plus an insurance marker in the eighth to win a wild one at Wildwood Park 13-11 in Northeastern Wisconsin Baseball League play. The A’s are now 5-1 in the NEWBL, and 16-10 overall as their win streak hits six straight.

The A’s will now play in the Wisconsin Amateur Baseball Classic this weekend in West Bend. The A’s will play Clyman at 8:30 PM in Hartford Friday night, before taking on West Bend and Vaqueros in back-to-back games beginning at 2 PM Saturday in West Bend. If they win pool play they will advance to the championship games on Sunday.

Speedster Jonathan Kim (University of Michigan Recruit) had not one, but two triples and was 3-4 at the plate with a walk to lead the A’s in hits last night. Jacoby Endreas (UW-Stout) had four and Sage Stellmacher (Upper Iowa University) collected three RBI to help drive the Sheboygan A’s offense. Seven of the A’s nine offensive starters collected hits.

Dylan Davis (Marian University) got the win, pitching five innings of relief.

Kewaskum had jumped out to an early 5-0 lead before Sheboygan’s seven-run second and five-run fourth gave the good guys a 12-5 lead. Kewaskum battled back with single runs in the sixth, seventh, eighth, and three in the ninth. Sheboygan’s insurance tally in the eighth proved to be huge as Kewaskum ended the game with the tying run on base.

The 2022 season is presented by Meijer. The A’s next home game will be Tuesday when they host the Greater Green Bay Blue Ribbons in a game that counts in both the Wisconsin State League and Northeastern Wisconsin Baseball League.
