Pettit’s Complete Game Effort Leads A’s to 3-2 Win Over West Allis

Posted: July 9, 2021

Behind a 141 pitch complete-game effort by Joey Pettit, the Sheboygan A’s knocked off the West Allis Nationals 3-2 Thursday night.

With the win, the A’s jump back over .500 overall for the first time since early June, and evened up their WSL record. The club now sits at 19-18 overall, 8-8 WSL, 6-3 NEWBL.

The A’s offense did all their damage in their first trip to the plate. Five straight singles with one out, helped by a West Allis error, accounted for all three A’s runs. From there, it was the Joey Pettit show.

Pettit (UW-Whitewater) pitched four different three-up, three-down innings in his nine innings of work. He struck out 11 and issued only three free passes.

The A’s now turn their attention to the Lombard Orioles, who they begin a four-game weekend set with starting Saturday at 4 PM and Sunday at 1 PM. Tickets are available now.
