Fireworks Display: Offense Explodes for 28 as A’s Sweep Kings

Posted: July 3, 2021

A’s fans didn’t have to wait until the fourth of July to see fireworks.

The A’s offense erupted for 28 runs during its’ Saturday doubleheader sweep of the Kenosha Kings, winning by scores of 10-4 and 18-3.

The wins pull the A’s back to .500 overall for the season and propelled them into third in the Wisconsin State League.

It would be hard to single out one individual performance Saturday. You could look at Jimmy Juergensen who had four doubles on the day. Or you could look at Brad Rindfleisch, who threw a 14-strike out complete-game performance in game one. You could also go with Harry Steldt, who collected his 500th career hit as a Sheboygan A with a fifth-inning double in game one.

Either way, the team is glad to get back up to .500 and will look to continue building on it after the fourth of July break.

The A’s host the Mensaha Macs for a weekday doubleheader Tuesday at Wildwood Park beginning at 6 PM. The A’s will also be home June 7 against Greater Green Bay for Touch a Truck / Salute to Service / $1 Hot Dogs & Sodas, and July 8 for Strike Out Hunger against the West Allis Nationals.
