A’s Remain Winless on the Road After 11-1 Loss to West Allis

Posted: June 16, 2021

Another road game for the A’s, another bus trip with heads held low.

The Nationals limited A’s hitters to four hits and struck out 11 as the A’s fell 11-1 to West Allis Tuesday night. The loss drops the A’s once again back below .500 at 9-10 overall, 4-6 in the Wisconsin State League. They are, however, 3-1 in the Northeastern Wisconsin League with a NEWBL matchup at Kewaskum tonight.

The A’s lone run of the game came in the top of the seventh inning when it was already too little, too late by none-other then A’s relief pitcher Mac Doherty, who entered the game in the fourth inning relieving Davis Wilson. Wilson started the game, but only lasted three innings. The A’s defense had a pair of miscues along with a dropped third strike allowing a run to score and allowing an inning to extend.

After tonight’s game in Kewaskum, the A’s will have four straight days of home games, beginning Thursday for Strike Out Hunger night in partnership with the Sheboygan County Food Bank. Any fans who bring two cans of soup to the game to donate will receive a free general admission ticket to the game. Friday is Health Care Heroes Night, where any health care worker who shows their work ID at the game will get a free general admission ticket. Game time for both contests is 7:30 PM.
