Sheboygan A's vs. Appleton Legends

Shorthanded A’s Get Pounded by Legends 21-4

APPLETON – The Appleton Legends showed up ready to play Wednesday night. The Sheboygan A’s barely showed up, severely shorthanded on the bench. Vastly overmatched on this particular night, the A’s were on the “4” end of a 21-4 pasting.

The A’s got off to a good start, too, as top of the first doubles by Josh Moses and Jacob Neese and a follow-up single by Harry Steldt produced a 2-0 lead. But the zero didn’t last long and Appleton’s scoreboard line quickly began to take on some golf card numbers: 5 0 5 1 5 5. Mercifully the game ended after seven innings.

The loss, the A’s fourth in their last five games, fortunately does not affect their run for second place in the Wisconsin State League. Tonight the A’s, 13-6 in the league, play West Allis (14-7) at Burlington.

The Sheboygan A's are members of the Wisconsin State League and Northeastern Wisconsin Baseball League. The A's have helped develop more than 43 players that have reached professional baseball, including 2002 World Series Champion Jarrod Washburn (Anaheim Angels). All Sheboygan A's home games are played at Wildwood Baseball Park in Sheboygan. Connect with the A's on FacebookTwitterInstagram and YouTube.
