A’s Maul West Allis in Key WSL Match

BURLINGTON – A blistering 17 hit offensive assault and the hit-me-I-dare-you pitching of Brad Rindfleisch stopped a strong West Allis Nationals team in a pivotal Wisconsin State League game here Friday night for a 13-2 Sheboygan A’s win.
The win tightened the chase with Lombard for the State League title. Lombard sits at 12-2 and Sheboygan at 12-4. Following their WSL game at home Thursday against West Allis, the A’s will play four games at Lombard next weekend.
The A’s put six hits together (two of them, a single and a double by TD Walker) with a walk and a hit batsman to score six runs in the second inning. It was a splurge from which West Allis never recovered.
Rindfleisch was the reason for that. He went 7 2/3 innings, scattering seven hits while striking out 12. The win puts him at 4-0 for the season.
Walker, Harry Steldt and Mark Wanner each had three hits and Ross Krist, Josh Moses (one a home run), Jacob Neese, and Colin Butkiewicz all two.
The A’s have now won six straight and 15 of their last 18 games. Krist extended his hitting streak to 14 games. The team will enjoy the weekend off before returning to play Tuesday in Menasha.
