An eventful, back-and-forth game Tuesday night was played between the A’s – Sheboygan A’s and the Kewaskum A’s. Trailing 4-2 going into the bottom of the 8th inning, the Sheboygan A’ s opened the frame with a walk and an unsuccessful fielder’s choice and then had six straight hits to score seven runs and take a 9-5 win over Kewaskum in Northeastern Wisconsin League play.
Brad Rindfleisch started the game for the (Sheboygan) A’s and he went five innings, allowing two runs on three hits and striking out five. Tyler Peccioli was credited with the win, pitching one and a third innings, allowing one hit and one run while striking out three. Kyle Peterson and Jacob Bonin also pitched out of the bullpen in relief.
Former Sheboygan A Brad Young (2016-2017) took the loss for Kewaskum. He pitched the full game, and was dealing until the disastrous 8th inning. He allowed eight hits and nine runs while striking out five.
Young, who also was hitting in the two spot for Kewaskum, hit an early home run to help himself out in the first inning. Sheboygan made an abrupt comeback in the 2nd inning when TD Walker hit a 2-run homer which gave them a lead 2-1. This lead soon became a tie when Kewaskum scored another run in the fourth inning.
The game went scoreless for three innings until the eighth inning when Kewaskum pulled ahead 4-2 from a 2-run home run hit by Mike Aiello. This back and forth scoring continued when Sheboygan’s Mark Wanner hit an RBI single that scored catcher Shane Ryan, which was followed up with a 2-RBI double hit by Harry Steldt finally putting the A’s ahead 5-4. The strong Sheboygan offense continued and they added four more runs to their eighth inning streak which gave them their final runs for the night.
The Sheboygan A’s are on a two-game win streak and at 7:30 Wednesday night they will face the Appleton Legends in another Northeastern Wisconsin Baseball League matchup. The 2020 season is presented by Meijer.
