A's Release 2020 Schedule

A’s Release 2020 Schedule

Posted: February 17, 2020

Sheboygan, WI – The Sheboygan A’s have released their schedule for the 2020 season. The 2020 season is presented by Meijer.

The A’s will again compete in the prestigious Wisconsin State League as well as the Northeastern Wisconsin Baseball League. Including additional exhibition matchups and tournament games, the A’s could see themselves playing 54-66 games when the season is complete.

The 2020 season, presented by Meijer, opens with an exhibition contest at home against the Manitowoc Bandits on Wednesday, May 27. The season-opening homestand also includes a May 29th matchup against Kewaskum, and a Saturday, May 30th exhibition contest against Northeastern Wisconsin Baseball League rival Green Bay, which will be preceded by the A’s 6th Annual 5K Run/Walk and a youth clinic.

The Wisconsin State League portion of the schedule will see the A’s play 30 games, five against each of the league’s member teams, including Addison (Braves), Burlington (Barons), Greater Green Bay (Blue Ribbons), Kenosha (Kings), Lombard (Orioles), and West Allis (Nationals). The De Pere Dodgers have re-branded as the Greater Green Bay Blue Ribbons. The A’s will again host the Wisconsin State League Challenge, a weekend in which all WSL teams are in Sheboygan competing in neutral-site regular season games.

Over in the Northeastern Wisconsin Baseball League, the league saw the addition of three teams. Greater Green Bay and West Allis, both of the Wisconsin State Leauge, have also joined the NEWBL in addition to the Kewaskum A’s. They join existing league members Appleton (Legends), Green Bay (Storm) and Menasha (Macs). Due to travel concerns with the expanded league footprint, the NEWBL will adopt an unbalanced regular season schedule in 2020, with the A’s playing the most regular season games at 24, while other member clubs will play fewer league games. Standings will be sorted based on winning percentage. When the A’s play Greater Green Bay or West Allis, those games will count in the standings of both the WSL and NEWBL.

The A’s will again host pool play of the Wisconsin Amateur Baseball Classic Tournament Friday, June 26 and Saturday, June 27. If the A’s advance, they will play for the tournament championship Sunday, June 28 in West Bend. The A’s won the tournament in 2018.

The A’s have also been named hosts of the 2020 Wisconsin Class A State Tournament, which means the A’s get an automatic bid into the tournament.
