Nationals Hammer A’s

Posted: July 26, 2019

Apparently displeased with three losses to the A’s earlier this season, the West Allis Nationals hammered the Sheboygan A’s Thursday night at Wildwood Baseball Park. The final was 15-3.

An A’s win would have gone a long way toward clinching the top seed in the Wisconsin State League play-in for the Class A State Tournament qualifying spot. The loss makes it a battle. The A’s still lead with their 17-7 record, followed by West Allis 16-9 and Kenosha 11-13. The A’s have six games remaining: four with Kenosha, one with West Allis and one make-up with Burlington.

West Allis blew this game open with a 3-run fourth and a 5-run fifth inning. Andrew Nuanes, who went into the game with a 7-0 record had his first bad start of the season. Jake Falish continued his hot streak with two hits for the A’s.

The A’s play Green Bay tonight in their final Northeastern Wisconsin League game. On Saturday they host Kenosha in a 1 p.m. doubleheader.
