A’s Bury Dodgers with Two Big Innings

Posted: June 12, 2019

The Sheboygan A’s scored six runs in both the third and seventh innings to coast to a 14-2 Wisconsin State League win over the De Pere Dodgers Tuesday night.

The win evens the A’s Wisconsin State League record at 3-3 and overall mark at 6-6. The club hosts the Green Bay Storm tonight at Wildwood Park. It is Sponsors and Friends Night and Educators Night. Gametime is 7:30 p.m. Eric Schmitz is the scheduled starter.

Harry Steldt’s 3-run double was the big hit of the third inning and Logan Vietmeier’s 2-run single highlighted the seventh. For the night, Vietmeier, a catcher from Pittsburgh via Marietta College, drove in four runs with two hits. Sharing in the hit parade honors were Ross Krist with two hits, TD Walker with a single and double, Jake Arens with two hits for two RBI and Jimmy Juergenson with a single and a double.

On the other side of the ledger, Drew Nuanes pitched a marvelous game, scattering eight hits and allowing just two runs. He stuck out five and walked two in the game shortened to seven innings by the league’s mercy rule.
