Rindfleisch Brilliant in A’s Debut, A’s Win Over West Allis

The sample is small, but the survey results are irrefutable.

The team that scores six runs in an inning wins the game 100% of the time – at least that’s been the case so far in 2019.

After losing to Kewaskum’s 6-run ninth inning Saturday, the Sheboygan A’s used a 6-run inning of their own to post a Wisconsin State League season-opening 7-1 win at West Allis Thursday night.

Brad Rindfleisch made his career first start for the A’s and had an effective outing, giving up only three hits over five innings, one a solo home run by Aaron Keocks. He struck out eight in his five innings.

Drew Nuanes, Jacob Bonin and Eric Schmitz held West Allis scoreless the rest of the way to seal the victory.

Kyle Peterson, JJ Zywiciel, Jake Arens, Harry Steldt and Mark Wanner all contributed hits in the A’s big 6-run third inning.

The 2019 Sheboygan A’s season, presented by Meijer, continues Saturday in a rematch with the Kewaskum A’s in non-league action. The team will then travel to Menasha on Monday for their Northeastern Wisconsin Baseball League opener before returning home Wednesday June 5 for a date with the Appleton Legends. June 5 is Plymouth Dirt Track Night, with cars from the race circuit on display pre-game in the parking lot. It’s also Midwest Communications Night, with the radio stations in the house with free ticket giveaways to a variety of state-wide events. Fans can get free general admission tickets to the game by stopping by their office.
