A’s Fail to Recover From Bad Start in De Pere

Posted: July 31, 2018

De Pere, WI – The De Pere Dodgers hit the Sheboygan A’s with four first-inning runs and while they got close, they were unable to overcome it and dropped a 7-3 Wisconsin State League game in De Pere.

The loss leaves the A’s with a 13-16 mark in the WSL and an overall record of 31-24. The hopes of a high seed in the tournament are rapidly fading as the late season losses pile up.

The A’s closed the score to 4-3 in the fourth but had the tying run thrown out at the plate. They managed only one hit for the remainder of the game and finished with a meager five hits all night.

The A’s wrap up league play tonight with a 7:30 game at Wildwood Park against West Allis. The Wisconsin Class A State Tournament starts Wednesday night. The A’s seed in the WSL regional of the tournament will be determined based on tonight’s game against West Allis. If the A’s lose, they will host Burlington on Wednesday. If the A’s win, they will be ahead of West Allis based on winning percentage and would host the winner of Burlington/West Allis on Thursday.

The Sheboygan A's are members of the Wisconsin State League and Northeastern Wisconsin Baseball League. The A's have helped develop more than 43 players that have reached professional baseball, including 2002 World Series Champion Jarrod Washburn (Anaheim Angels).
