Krist Stay’s Hot, A’s Bury Oshkosh

Sheboygan, WI – Led by the red-hot Ross Krist, the Sheboygan A’s drubbed the Oshkosh Giants 15-1 at Wildwood Park Thursday in Wisconsin State League action.

Krist was 4-4 with a triple and a base on balls on the evening, scoring four runs.

Over his last six games, the left-handed hitter from UW-Platteville and Sheboygan Falls is 12-17 with seven walks.

Eric Schmitz worked six innings, striking out three and allowing only three hits.

With the A’s scoring 11 runs in the first four innings, manager Derek Loomans was able to use some guys on the bench, including some extra playing time for some of his pitchers, including Schmitz who received two plate appearances. Schmitz made his appearances count, going 2-2 with three RBI. 

Now 27-18 for the season and 12-13 in the Wisconsin State League, the A’s now turn their attention to the Northeastern Wisconsin League for the next five games. 

They play a doubleheader at Marinette Saturday, travel to Menasha Monday and to Green Bay Tuesday before they return to Sheboygan to play Appleton Wednesday when it will be Christmas in July, with a special offseason visit from Santa Claus.

The Sheboygan A's are members of the Wisconsin State League and Northeastern Wisconsin Baseball League. The A's have helped develop more than 43 players that have reached professional baseball, including 2002 World Series Champion Jarrod Washburn (Anaheim Angels).
