Kenosha, WI – The Sheboygan A’s were able to salavage an extra innings victory in game two on Sunday to split a doubleheader with the Kenosha Kings.
The game was tied at one with the A’s batting in the top of the tenth when the A’s plated six runs to take a 7-1 lead, which would be the final score.
Derek Loomans was credited with the victory for the A’s. He surrendered one run on nine hits over ten innings, striking out five and walking one.
Harry Steldt went 2-for-4 at the plate.
In game one, a six-run second inning led Kenosha to an 11-1 victory . Alex Letto, Aaron Schauer, Noah Jensen, and Travis Vanderwall each had RBIs in the big inning.
Former A’s ace, and 2017 Wisconsin State League Most Valuable Pitcher Jason Bunton earned the victory on the hill for Kenosha, surrendering one run on four hits over six innings, striking out six and walking one.
Brady Nehring took the loss for the A’s. He went five innings, allowing eight runs on three hits.
The offense managed only four hits.
After going 1-3 over the weekend, the A’s record now stands at 17-11 overall, 8-9 in the Wisconsin State League, and 5-2 in the Northeastern Wisconsin Baseball League.
The team will travel to De Pere on Tuesday, and return home Wednesday to face Green Bay. Wednesday is United Way Night, College Night, and $1 hot dogs.
