DEJA VU – Schwarz Throws No-Hitter as A’s Blank Branch 9-0
Posted: June 14, 2018
Sheboygan, WI – It happened again.
Following Tuesday nights masterful pitching performance by Brady Nehring, who threw a complete game no-hitter, Taylor Schwarz took the mound Wednesday in a non-league game against Branch.
The results were the same.
Taylor Schwarz faced one over the minimum Wednesday night, as the A’s righty threw the team’s second no-hitter in as many nights. It was also the team’s third no-hitter of the season. The A’s won 9-0.
Pitching with fantastic efficiency, Schwarz threw 59 of his 69 pitches for strikes over seven innings, averaging less then 10 pitches thrown each inning. Schwarz recorded 15 outs in three pitches or less.
By the time the second inning was over, the A’s had already reached a 6-0 lead. Manager Derek Loomans then went to his bench, and the A’s tacked on three more runs in the third to go up 9-0.
Eight A’s recorded hits, including three by Christian McKelvey, who returned for his first game back in weeks with a hand injury.
The A’s head to Oshkosh tonight, then take on the perennial Wisconsin State League champion Lombard Orioles in Illinois Saturday and Sunday for a four-game weekend set.
The A’s return home Wednesday, June 20 for a 7:30 PM matchup with the De Pere Dodgers.
