Schmitz K’s 15 in 1-Hit Shutout of Manitowoc

Posted: June 16, 2017

Sheboygan, WI – Only three Manitowoc Bandits reached base at Wildwood Park Thursday night as Eric Schmitz buzzed the Bandits with a 15-strikeout, 1-hitter for a 14-0 A’s win.

Manitowoc is down this year; make no mistake about that but Eric Schmitz could have 1-hit a lot of teams last night. He had good stuff and good endurance. Of the three that reached first base, none reached second

Manitowoc’s pitching situation was an 180 degree opposite. Manitowoc’s scheduled starter showed up late and the replacement got nailed. Walk after walk led to a 10-0 A’s lead after just two innings and the ultimate mercy rule win.

The A’s are back in action tonight at Wildwood with a 7:30 PM game against DePere. It is the annual Bud Light Night with Larry’s Distributing sponsoring the evening and donating the prizes.
