2017 Spring & Summer Internships Available Now

Posted: February 14, 2017

Sheboygan, WI – The Sheboygan A’s are currently accepting applications for our 2017 spring and summer internship positions. Spring internships will begin immediately and run until approximately mid-May, while summer internships begin around mid-May and last until about mid-August. All internships are unpaid but can be for-credit if approved by the school’s proper advisor.

A’s internships offer students a chance to get their first real word experience in the sports industry.

“Every season our intern program has grown,” said A’s Vice President C.J. Skelton. “2017 will be our fifth season running an intern program. Our first season we had one intern. Last year we were fortunate to have 12 interns with us. As our operation continues to grow, we anticipate the number of interns to grow along with it.”

In the A’s short time of offering an intern program, past interns have gone on to get jobs in minor league baseball, the California Winter League, the American Hockey League, Road America and more. Of the A’s eight members on the Board of Directors, two are former interns.

“We are proud we can give students some real-world experience to help them achieve their future career goals, whether that is in sports or any other field,” Skelton said. “Plus, what could be better than spending most of your summer nights outside at the ballpark?”

The A’s currently offer 11 internships: Accounting, Broadcasting, Digital Media, Field Operations, Graphic Design, Hospitality & Foodservice, Marketing & Sales, Mascot, Photography, Sports Management and Webcast/Videography.

In some cases, the A’s can work with a student to create an internship not currently listed.

Interns will work under the direction and supervision of the Sheboygan Athletic Club Vice President, General Manager, Board of Directors, or committee chairs of their specific areas. Summer interns are expected to be at all home games unless otherwise excused.
