Sheboygan A's Baseball

A’s Pound Oshkosh, 15-2

Posted: June 9, 2016

When you deliver 15 hits, five of them for extra bases, score
15 runs, and watch your pitcher deliver a lights-out performance, a big win is
likely the result.

All that and a woeful “can anything else go wrong” night on
the part of the Oshkosh Giants, added up to a wild 15-2 victory for the A’s
Wednesday night.

The A’s knocked the ball all over the lot and started with
4-1-1-7 innings while the Giants were struggling with Brandon Winfield’s slants
and trying to find balls in the gray sky. Winfield struck out nine, walked two and
gave up two hits and no earned runs in six innings. Connor Keating closed the door in a one-inning relief stint.

Among the offensive heroes were Cole Heili with a triple and
double for three runs batted in; Mitch Sutton with a double, home run and four runs batted in; Harry Steldt’s sacrifice fly and two hits for three runs batted in; Wyatt Olson and
Taylor Grimm with two hits and Trevor Cho and Hunter Berry each with a double.

The win puts the A’s at 6-1 for the season, 2-0 in the
Northeastern Wisconsin League in 3-1 in the Wisconsin State Baseball League. The club plays in Appleton tonight and
Manitowoc Friday night.
