A’s Crush Kenosha, Win 11-1

Posted: July 23, 2015

SHEBOYGAN – The A’s welcomed the Kenosha Kings to Wildwood
Baseball Park Wednesday night for a Wisconsin State League
contest. Taylor Schwarz’ prolific performance on the mound and Dylan Detert’s
big night at the plate led the A’s past Kenosha, beating them 11-1 in seven
innings.

The A’s pounded out 16 hits, Detert had four, including a
long home run that soared over the left field fence. Detert finished the night
a double shy of the cycle and recorded three RBI and scored four runs.

Kenosha got on the board first but back-to-back RBI singles
by Taylor Grimm and Blake Fleischman gave the A’s a 2-1 lead after 3 complete.

From then on, it was all Sheboygan as they dismantled the
Kings pitching, plating 11 runs on 16 hits.

Schwarz was excellent, going the distance allowing only one
run off five hits.

Taylor Grimm added two hits and three RBI.

Cole Miklavcic had two hits, two runs scored and a stolen
base.

The A’s improve to 27-15 overall and 17-8 Wisconsin State League.

With the win, it keeps the A’s home field advantage in the
playoffs still alive. The A’s are playing great baseball right now, in their
last two games they have recorded 28 hits and scored 24 runs. This is the kind
of baseball that is needed for a good playoff push.

Sheboygan will finish off the home stand Thursday night when
they face the Appleton Legends in Northeastern Wisconsin League play, first
pitch scheduled for 7:30 PM. It will be “Christmas
in July” night at the ballpark with $1 hot dogs available in honor of National Hot Dog Day.
