Get to Know Your Sheboygan A’s: Taylor Schwarz

Schwarz has been a mainstay with the A’s as he enters his 8thseason with the team. He has been effective on the mound and his offensive
production is unmatched. In his time with the A’s, Schwarz has thrown 239
innings, recorded 187 strikeouts, and has posted a 23-7 record with a 2.75 ERA.

While Schwarz is mainly a pitcher, he can swing the bat as
well. Throughout his career, he has 170 hits and 79 RBI to go along with his
.338 OBP.

Where are you from?– Sheboygan, WI

What school do you
attend? –
MATC for 3 years, UNC-Greensboro, and UW-Parkside where I
graduated

What do you enjoy
most about baseball? –
At first it used to be the competition, but now it’s
fun, now that I am older and done with school, it’s a hobby, still competitive
but more enjoyable.

What are your
individual goals for this season? –
Winning is always nice and I would like
to perform well on the mound and in field.

What are your
expectations for the team this year? –
Lots a new guys, lots a shoes to
fill, we just have to play to best of our abilities and win as many games as we
can.

Who is your favorite
baseball team and why? –
New York Yankees, they have a great organization
and they win.

Who is your favorite
baseball player and why? –
Derek Jeter because he is my idol.

What is your favorite
baseball movie and why? –
The Sandlot, it’s a classic.

The Sheboygan A's are members of the Wisconsin State League and Northeastern Wisconsin Baseball League. The A's have helped develop more than 43 players that have reached professional baseball, including 2002 World Series Champion Jarrod Washburn (Anaheim Angels).
