After 284 long days, the Sheboygan A’s return to the diamond tonight to take on Wisconsin State League newcomer West Bend 7 Up in West Bend. First pitch is at 7:30 PM.

Third year A’s pitcher Brandon Winfield will get the start on the mound. Winfield brings a career 2.97 ERA into the contest. Winfield is a former Marian University standout, having graduated in 2014.

West Bend is making their debut in the Wisconsin State League this season. They are currently 1-2 in league play. The A’s and West Bend are both in the North Division of the Wisconsin State League. The A’s and 7 Up have never met. The A’s are 17-13 all-time against teams from West Bend.

Follwing tonight’s season opener, the A’s have off on Thursday before the home opener Friday at Wildwood Baseball Park when the A’s take on the West Allis Nationals. First pitch is 7:30 PM.

Preceding the game on Friday will be the Project G.R.I.L.L. ceremony, being held for the third year in a row at Wildwood Baseball Park. What is Project G.R.I.L.L. you ask? High schools are paired with manufacturing companies in Sheboygan County to embark on a project to design and build custom grills from scratch. This program is called Project GRILL; standing for Growing Readiness In Learning and Leading. The finished grills will be on display prior to the A’s Friday night game.

Sunday is the A’s 1st Annual 5K Home Run, a run/walk that begins and ends at Wildwood Baseball Park, with proceeds benefiting the Sheboygan Athletic Club and Wildwood Baseball Park. You can still register online by
