Kings Trounce A’s 9-2; Rough Road Trip Ahead

Posted: June 6, 2014

The Kenosha Kings hit the Sheboygan A’s with six runs in the
first inning and went on to an easy 9-2 victory at revamped Simmons Field in
Kenosha. The game counts in both the
Wisconsin State League and the Langsdorf League standings.

Robert
Hagedorn got off to a bad start in his first appearance with the A’s, being hit
for seven earned runs on eight hits in 3 2/3 innings. After being staked to the
big lead, Kenosha’s longtime ace Jon Olson held the A’s to just two hits for
the first seven innings to make the Kenosha win an easy one.

The A’s
offense really floundered against the strong Kenosha pitching staff, managing
but four hits for the game and striking out 11 times. Kenosha banged out eight
hits and was helped by eight walks.

The A’s
now face another challenge, spending the weekend in Eau Claire to do battle
with the always strong Cavaliers in a four-game series. The A’s are now 4-3 overall, 0-1 in the Wisconsin State
League and 2-2 in the Langsdorf.
