Playoffs Start Tonight; Taylor Gets The Start

Posted: July 29, 2013

Bryce Taylor, the Sheboygan A’s righthander from Melbourne, Austrailia, has been named to start the playoff opener by skipper Tyler Martin.

The Sheboygan A’s take on the West Allis Nationals Monday night in the Langsdorf League semi-finals at Wildwood Baseball Park.

First pitch is set for 7:30 p.m.

West Allis qualified with a 2-day,15-inning win over the Burlington Barons.

Taylor is a student athlete at Marian University. He’ll take a 3-3 record with a 2.75 earned run average in 36 innings into his playoff start.

Going into this season the Nationals held a 7-4 advantage in the series that dates back to 2001, but the As evened it by winning all three games this year: 3-1, 7-1 and 8-4.

While they lost a heartbreaker, 4-3 in 10 innings at Kenosha in their last outing, they have been playing good baseball in the second half or the season, winning 20 of their last 26 games.

If the A’s beat West Allis Monday night, they will meet Kenosha in best of three playoff. The games would be in Kenosha Tuesday, in Sheboygan Thursday and, if necessary, in Kenosha again on Saturday.
