Posted: July 14, 2013

With a 14-game win streak at stake, the Sheboygan A’s take on the top two teams in the Wisconsin State League at Wildwood Park Sunday afternoon.

After beating Addison 8-3 Saturday night, the A’s (6-8 in the Wisconsin State League and 25-15 overall) meet the Lombard Orioles (13-2) at 12 noon and the Kenosha Kings (11-5) at approximately 2:30 p.m. Two games each will also be played Sunday afternoon on the Hummitzsch and Legion Fields by other State League teams.

The A’s got a route-going performance from Max Kramsky and set back the Addison Braves to go 2-0 for the weekend in the State League head-to-head competition.

In other Saturday games Lombard beat Kenosha, 13-2, and Oshkosh 7-0; Kenosha beat Eau Claire, 15-11 in 9 innings, and Eau Claire beat Addison, 7-1.

The A’s scored three runs in the second inning and held a lead the rest of the way.

Trevor Theissen and Dan Barwick both had two hits and Greg Rhude and Ryan Schilter both had doubles.

Kramsky took a no-hitter into the fifth inning, but then Clem Holke smashed a liner to tight. A’s right fielder Ryan Schilter, realizing that a no-hitter was at stake, made a diving attempt at the catch, but it bounded past him for a triple. Kremsky finished with a 6-hitter, struck out six and walked one.

For the A’s, Harry Steldt had three hits and Trevor Theissen, Nick Maldonado and Dan Barwick two each.

After Sunday’s doubleheader, the A’s host Racine Monday night.
