Loomans Shuts Down Racine

Posted: July 2, 2013

A 4-run third inning and the durable right arm of Derek Loomans provided more than enough punch for the Sheboygan A’s to rack up a 9-3 Langsdorf League win in Racine Monday night.

Loomans threw a 14-strikeout, 4-hit complete game at Racine.

In the fourth, Ryan Schilter followed Trevor Theissen’s base hit and a hit batsman with an RBI single and then Cole Heili drove in two runs with a mammoth double and then scored himself after two walks and a hit batsman. Dan Schmidt’s 2-run single in the ninth gave Loomans plenty of cushion.

Now 7-2 in the Langsdorf, one game behind front-running Kenosha, the A’s turn their attention to the Northeastern Wisconsin League with 7:30 p.m. NEW games at Wildwood Park tonight against league-leading Appleton and Wednesday against Manitowoc. Bryce Taylor is scheduled to start tonight and Taylor Schwarz on Wednesday.

After that the A’s host the All-Star game between players from the two leagues on Friday night.

The club is 13-15 for the season.
