
Annual awards dinner set for Jan. 5

The Sheboygan Athletic Club’s annual awards dinner will be held on Saturday evening, Jan. 5, at the Sheboygan Elks Lodge #299, 1943 Erie Ave., in Sheboygan.
Highlighting the dinner will be the presentation of awards to A’s players who led the club to a 33-27 record this past season and playoff berths in both the Langsdorf and Northeastern Wisconsin Leagues.
In addition to awards to A’s players, Athletic Club awards will be presented along with awards to Diamonds Youth Baseball players.
The dinner is open to the public and the A’s encourage friends and fans to attend.
Cash bar social hour begins at 5:30 p.m. with dinner at 7, followed by the program and 10th inning. If paid in advance, cost to A’s club members, players and hall of famers, Legion and Diamonds players is $25; cost to the general public is $27.
The deadline for reservations is Dec. 28. Checks payable to Sheboygan Athletic Club should be sent to Annual Dinner, Sheboygan Athletic Club, PO Box 32, Sheboygan, WI 53082-0032. Names of those attending should accompany the check so that admission name tags can be prepared in advance.
Reservations can be made by telephone, 920-458-6377, but those who do not pay in advance will be assessed an additional $2 per person at the door.
The Sheboygan A's are members of the Wisconsin State League and Northeastern Wisconsin Baseball League. The A's have helped develop more than 43 players that have reached professional baseball, including 2002 World Series Champion Jarrod Washburn (Anaheim Angels).
