A’s Grab 6-2 Victory Over Chicago

Posted: June 5, 2011

Ben Stanczyk took a no-hitter into the eighth inning, and the Sheboygan A’s celebrated the grand opening celebration of refurbished Wildwood Park with a 6-2 victory over the Chicago Clout on Saturday.

A crowd of more than 500 turned out to celebrate the park’s improvements, and watched as the A’s improved to 3-1 on the young season.

Stanczyk got the victory in eight-plus innings of work, while Glenn Nowell came in for the save.

Sheboygan scored all six of its runs in the third inning, highlighted by a bases-clearing triple by Justin Hunt.

Charlie Reschke had two hits and one RBI and Greg Rhude also had two hits for the A’s, who host Branch for a non-league game on Monday before hosting the Oshkosh Giants in the opener for both the Northeastern Wisconsin and Wisconsin State leagues.
