Madson, Dominick Return

Veteran right-hander Will Madson highlights the latest Sheboygan A’s roster additions as the countdown to opening day is under way.

Madson has been with the A’s for parts of 13 different seasons. In that time he has posted a 36-24 record with a 3.90 earned run average.

The South High assistant coach 2-0 last year with a 3.08 earned run average in 17 innings.

Madson is a Sheboygan native, who pitched for Carthage College before pitching in the Detroit Tigers chain.

Two other pitchers have also signed on.

Bryan Dominick was with the club in 2009 and last year, before and after a stint in the New York Collegiate League. Overall Dominick was 3-3 and 3.95 with the A’s in 41 innings. A Waukesha native, Dominick is playing his college ball at Central Methodist.

Mike Huckabay is the lastest to join the club. The 6-foot-3 right-hander is currently 6-0 at Madison College.

Athletic Club members are working feverishly to get ready for the 2011 opener on Friday. Workers report that slowly but surely Wildwood Park is getting into shape and everything should be in place.

The team will work out every night leading up to the opener.

Fans who call in season ticket orders will have the tickets in advance of opening day or they can pick up their ticket books at the park box office. Season tickets can be ordered by calling 920-458-6377. Cost is $30 for general admission, $40 for grandstand and $50 for box seats. Fans are encouraged to call in their orders in advance to avoid box office congestion.

The Sheboygan A's are members of the Wisconsin State League and Northeastern Wisconsin Baseball League. The A's have helped develop more than 43 players that have reached professional baseball, including 2002 World Series Champion Jarrod Washburn (Anaheim Angels).
