A’s Split with Chicago

The Sheboygan A’s managed only nine hits all day, but managed to eke out a doubleheader split with the Chicago Wildcats.

Jack Larsen and Connor Lenz combined to shut out the Wildcats in the first game for a 1-0 A’s win. Larsen got the win; Lenz the save.

The A’s got the win in the bottom of the sixth when Kyle Edlhuber singled in Doug Dekoning, who walked, stole second and advanced to third on a throwing error.

The A’s managed only four hits off Brandon Duplesis, who pitched the Wildcats to a 5-2 win. Eric Van Beck took his first loss of the season, despite giving up only one arned run in the game. The A’s committed four errors.

Justin Hunt and Phil Kramsky singled in the A’s only runs in the second.

Van Beck’s wildness (he walked five) helped Chicago brreak the game open with four runs in the fourth through sixth innings.

The A’s travel to Kenosha Tuesday and to Manitowoc Wednesday before hosting Oshkosh Thursday. The Greenbush Dead Citys will play a team of Sheboygan gym teachers at 6:30 p.m. Thursday prior to the Oshkosh game an exhibition of how baseball was played in the 1870s.

The A’s Saturday games againt Elmhurst were postponed because of rain.

The Sheboygan A's are members of the Wisconsin State League and Northeastern Wisconsin Baseball League. The A's have helped develop more than 43 players that have reached professional baseball, including 2002 World Series Champion Jarrod Washburn (Anaheim Angels).
