A’s Win 3 of 4 Against Addison

The Sheboygan A’s won their series over the Addison Braves this weekend, splitting Saturday and sweeping Sunday.

The A’s won the opener, 6-2 and lost the nightcap Saturday, 5-3.

On Sunday they won by 14-8 and 5-4 scores.

The club rapped out 20 hits in Sunday’s opener.

Addison hit the A’s with a 3-spot in the top of the first, but the A’s answered with five of their own in the marathon opening inning and never relinquished the leadd.

Kreston Albright, Tim Patzman, David Novak and Taylor Schwarz all had three hits with Patzman belting a double and a home run. Matt Schilter and Gabe Marshall drove in three runs each.

The A’s needed eight innings before overcoming the Braves in the second game.

Novak doubled to right to open the eighth inning was moved up to third on Greg Blohowiak’s bunt and scored on Justin Hunt’s blast high off the leftfield wall.

Once again Addison scored three to start the game but the A’s battled back into it with single runs in the first, third and fourth for a tie. Both teams scored solo markers in the sixth to send the game into extra innings.

Albright, Patzman and Blohowiak all got two hits with Albright driving in two runs.

Zach Hoch pitched a complete game 3-hitter in the first game Saturday as Albright, Lucas Wilsing. Ryan Schmitz. Brett Cleveringa and Taylor Schwarz all got three hits and Schwarz and Albright each drove in two runs.

Addison and the A’s were tied at 3 after three innings, but the A’s couldn’t get anything going after that. Wilsing had two hits in the game to finish the day at 4-for-6.

The weekend’s result puts the A’s at 10-8 and in third place in the State League and 20-8 overall this season. They play at Manitowoc Tuesday night.
